who we are
catz.io is a cat rating platform. Our website address is https://catz.io.
what data we collect
When you use catz.io we may collect the following:
- Photos you upload of your cat. These are stored securely on Cloudinary, a third party image hosting service.
- Your cat's rating results including scores, name suggestions, verdicts and mood. These are stored in our database.
- If you sign up to chat with Chairman Meow: your email address, the messages you exchange with the chairman, and short factual notes about you that the chairman uses to personalise future replies.
- Standard server logs including IP addresses and browser information, collected automatically by our hosting provider.
how we use your data
We use your data to:
- Display your cat's rating results
- Show your cat on our leaderboard and Cat of the Week page
- Improve the catz.io service
who we share your data with
We share data with the following third party services to operate catz.io:
- Cloudinary stores your cat photos. Their privacy policy is available at cloudinary.com/privacy.
- Anthropic processes your cat photos to generate rating results, and powers Chairman Meow's replies if you choose to chat with him. Their privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
- Resend sends magic login links to your email when you sign in to chat with Chairman Meow. Their privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Bluehost provides our hosting and collects standard server logs. Their privacy policy is available at bluehost.com/privacy-policy.

When you chat with Chairman Meow, your messages and his replies are stored in our database so the conversation stays continuous when you come back, and so the chairman can remember things you've told him about your cat.
A few things worth knowing:
- We extract short factual notes from your messages (for example "user's cat is called Tom"). These are reused to personalise future replies. You can ask us to delete them.
- Site admins can read conversations through an internal admin tool. We only do this when there's a real reason: debugging, responding to a complaint, investigating abuse, or improving the chairman.
- We do not train AI models on your conversations. We do not share chat content with advertisers. We do not sell any of it.
- If you want your chat history or stored facts deleted, contact us via the Contact page.
how long we keep your data
Cat photos and rating results are stored indefinitely to power the leaderboard and Cat of the Week features. You may request deletion of your cat's data at any time by contacting us.

You have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data

catz.io uses standard WordPress cookies for site functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.
children's privacy
catz.io is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
