white cat names: 80+ names for your little ghost
A white cat is a statement. It says the animal has decided that hiding dirt is beneath it, and that you may do the worrying about the sofa. A coat like that carries an air of the ghostly, the regal, and the faintly unsettling, and the name should honour at least one of those. Here are the ones worth considering, from the celestial to the frankly spooky.
White is a coat, not a breed, and it turns up everywhere from moggies to the grandest pedigrees. It also comes with one genuine quirk worth knowing, which I will get to. First, the names.

one thing to know about white cats
A genuine point of care before you go. A meaningful number of white cats, particularly those with blue eyes, are deaf, in one ear or both, because the gene behind the white coat is linked to hearing. A deaf cat lives a perfectly full and happy life; it simply needs a little extra sense on your part, keeping it indoors or supervised outside since it cannot hear traffic, and approaching where it can see you so you do not startle it awake. The white-cat deafness link is covered further in my Turkish Angora profile, a breed famous for its white coat. If in any doubt about your cat's hearing, a vet can test it properly.
how to choose
White gives you more range than most colours, from the angelic to the spectral, so the real question is which version of the cat you have. A serene lap-dweller wants Pearl or Grace. A silent menace that materialises behind you wants Ghost or Wraith. Watch it for a few days, decide whether it is a blessing or a haunting, and name it accordingly. Say the shortlist aloud and keep the one that fits the animal, not just the coat.
